Another nice collectible for your consideration. You are looking on one (1) 1988 Gary Ward Game-Used New York Yankees Away Pants - Steiner Certified. The MLB game-used pants offered in this product are shown in the photographs provided below. These pants were used by All-Star player Gary Ward during the '88 MLB season and are tagged "88." Stitched along the inseam of the pants is Ward's name along with his jersey number, the pants size and the year.

The pants also come with a letter of Authenticity from Steiner Sports. The letter notes it is a "1988 Gary Ward #28 Game Used Road Pants" and that is was "obtained as part of the Yankees - Steiner Collectibles Program, a direct partnership between the New York Yankees Baseball Club and Steiner Sports Memorabilia." Steiner holograms, with matching numbers have been attached to the pants and the letter. Then from some reason, Steiner added an additional hologram, see scans.

Former professional baseball outfielder Gary Lamell Ward was born December 6, 1953 in Los Angeles, California. Ward was signed by the Minnesota Twins as an amateur free agent in 1972 and made his MLB debut on September 3, 1979. Ward played for the Minnesota Twins (1979-1983), the Texas Rangers (1984-1986), the New York Yankees (1987-1989) and the Detroit Tigers (1989-1990). Ward was named the American League Rookie of the Year (ROY) by Baseball Digest in 1981 and the following year, earned Twins Player of the Year and Most Improved Player honors. The 2-time All-Star selection (1983 & 1985) led all outfielders with 24 assists in 1983, the most for an AL outfielder since 1944. Ward finished his career 12-year career with a .276 batting average, 130 home runs, 597 RBI, 594 runs, 196 doubles, 41 triples and 83 stolen bases in 1287 games played. Very solid numbers for a player whose defense was considered his greatest skill.
