It would make a great additional to a registry set or to any Minnesota Vikings card collection.Professional football running back Adrian Lewis Peterson was born March 21, 1985 in Palestine, Texas. Peterson attended the University of Oklahoma where he played NCAA college football with the Sooners from 2004 to 2006. During Peterson's 2004 freshman season, he rushed for 1,925 yards and led the nation in carries with 339, earning First-Team Associated Press All-American honors and finishing second in the Heisman Award voting to USC's Matt Leinart. Limited by a high ankle sprain in 2005, Peterson still rushed for 1,208 yards and 14 touchdowns on 220 carries, finishing second in Big 12 rushing yardage and was named to the All-Big 12 Conference team. In 2005, Peterson broke his collar bone and missed much of the regular season ending with 1,112 yards rushing. Peterson finished his collegate career with 4,045 yards rushing despite only playing three seasons and being injured two of them. The Minnesota Vikings selected Adrian Peterson in the 1st round (7th pick overall) in the 2007 NFL Draft. Peterson had a break out rookie season, rushing for 224 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Bears on Oct. 14, setting the NFL single game rushing record on Nov. 7, rushing for 296 yards. Peterson followed his rookie season but rushing for a league leading 1760 yards in 2008. In 2009, Peterson rushed for 1,383 yards and 18 touchdowns and along with newly acquired quarterback Bret Favre, took the Vikings to the NFC Championship game. In his first three seasons, Peterson has rushed for 4,484 yards and 40 touchdowns while adding 829 yards receiving with a touchdown.
