The autographs in this product are shown in the scans below. Offered here is a vintage album page hand signed by Theodore Bikel on one side, and by Ed Nelson on the other side. Nice vintage signatures. The signatures have been certified by PSA/DNA as being authentic. Attached to the back of the album page is PSA/DNA sticker C29562, which matches the certification number on the PSA/DNA Certificate of Authenticity. You can look up this signature on the PSA/DNA online datebase. There is a second and unidentified signature on the back. See the scans provided below. Actor/folk singer and musician Theodore Meir Bikel was born May 2, 1924.in Vienna, Austria. Palestine, Bikel started acting while in his teens, and co-founded the Cameri Theatre there, before moving to London to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1945. After several plays and films in Europe, Bikel moved to the United States in 1954, and became a naturalized citizen in 1961. Bikel played as the U-boat first officer in The Enemy Below (1957), the captain on the submarine on The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming (1966). On Broadway, he originated the role of Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music (1959). In the 1950s, Bikel produced and sang in several albums of Jewish folk songs, as well as Songs of a Russian Gypsy, in 1958. He was a co-founder of the Newport Folks Festival in 1959. In addition to scores of appearances on film and on the stage, Bikel was a guest star on many popular television shows since the 1960s, including The Twilight Zone, Wagon Train, Hawaii Five-O, Columbo, Charlie's Angels, Little House on the Prairie, Dynasty, Knight Ridge and Law & Order. Bikel also appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation and two different roles in Babylon 5. Bikel is President of the Associated Actors and Artistes of America and was elected to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors of Meretz.
Actor Edwin Stafford Nelson was born December 21, 1928 in New Orleans, Louisana. Nelson has appeared in numerous television shows and more then fifty motion pictures. Nelson began acting while attending ulane University in New Orleans. He left college after two years to study at the New York School of Radio and Television Technique. After graduating, he took a position as a director at WDSU-TV in New Orleans. By 1956, acting became his central focus and he moved to the Los Angeles area. His early television career featured many guest starring roles in such series as The Fugitive, Gunsmoke, Habor Command and Bonanza. In 1976, he played pit crew chief Robert Denby in the hit Riding with Death (1976), which he followed with For theLove of Benji (1977). More modern television roles include: The Fall Guy; Quincy M.E.; Cagney & Lacey and Murder, She Wrote. Nelson is a long-standing member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and continues to participate in voting for the Academy Awards.
