Former professional basketball player Keith Adam Van Horn was born October 23, 1975 in Fullerton, California. Van Horn attended the University of Utah where he played NCAA basketball with the Utah Utes becoming the first player in the Western Athletic Conference to be named Player of the Year three times (1995, '96, '97), the second player in WAC history to make first-team all-WAC four years, and is the leading career scorer in Utah and WAC history with 2,542 points. Van Horn was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the second pick overall in the 1997 NBA Amateur Draft, who immediately traded his rights to the New Jersey Nets. Van Horn played for the New Jersey Nets (1997-2002), Philadelphia 76ers (2002-2003), New York Knicks (2003-2004), Milwaukee Bucks (2004-2005) and the Dallas Mavericks (2005-2006). His best season as a pro came in his 2nd year in the league, when he put up a career high 21.8 scoring average as well as 8.5 rebounds per game and he was an important part of the 2002 New Jersey team that won the Eastern Conference championships.
