NBA's MARK ACRES, PLAYMATE JUSTINE GREINER, ACTOR-DIRECTOR GRANT HESLOV & PGA GOLFER SCOTT ERICKSON'S 1980 PALOS VERDES ESTATES HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOK
Another nice collectible for your consideration. You are looking on one (1) 1980 Palos Verdes Estates High School Yearbook with several future notables. This product is for the 1980 Palos Verdes Estates Yearbook (Palos Verdes, California), titled "Triton." This yearbook has quite a few future notables. Together in the Junior Class is future NBA star Mark Acres, Playmate Justine Greiner and Actor-Director Grant Heslov. PGA Golfer Scott Erickson is in the yearbook, but he has no class photo, so I am unsure of his grade. In the Sophomore class is Extreme Markover: Home Edition designer Michael Moloney, and it is shown in the index he is in the book, however the index repeats his brothers class photh and I could not find him in the yearbook. I do think he is in here somewhere. Interestingly, Michael's brother is a yearbook staff member. (Many photos are not labeled).
The yearbook is used but is in very good to excellent condition. There are no signatures. Spine is pretty strong, binding is good. Overall a pretty good book. Mark Acres is shown in the book six times. He is shown in his Junior Class photo (page 94); in the Shakespeare Club group photo (page 176); in the Marine Science Club group photo (page 177); playing basketball and trying to find an open person to pass to (page 216); and in a basketball action photo "easily jumping high over his opponents' reach" (page 217).
Greiner appears in her Junior Class Photo (page 98) and in a S-Club group photo (page 163). Former model Justine Greiner was chosen as Playboy's Playmate of the Month (centerfold) for February 1984.
Grant Heslov appears in his Junior Class Photo (page 98) and in a Key Club group photo (page 165). Actor Grant Heslov has appeared in several movies including "True Lies" "Enemy of the State" "The Scorpion King" and several television programs including "Family Ties, L.A. Law and Matlock. Heslov earned an Academy Award nomination for "Good Night, and Good Luck" - a movie he produced, screenwrote and acted in.
Former professional golfer Scott Erickson attended Fresno State University, where he was a Sun Bowl All American and the 1986 Big West Conference Champion. Erickson played golf professionaly on the Canadian Tour from 1987 to 1994 and the PGA Tour of Austrailasia 1987 to 1992. In 1994 Erickson retired from competition to pursue other non golf interests. As a golf purist, Erickson believed/believes woods should be made of wood or persimmon; that the USGA sold out to equipment makers and were prostituting the game for profit; and that the game should be more about skill than the pursuit of technological advances in equipment.
Michael Moloney is the sophomore class. Could not find him in the yearbook. Decorator and television personality Michael C. Moloney was born December 14, 1963. Moloney, a former fashion designer, appears as a regular personality on reality television series "Extreme Markover: Home Edition" - where he specialty is Interior Design. Moloney has also appeared regularly on the Style Network show "Clean House."
