The Philadelphia Phillies selected Randy Lerch in the 8th round of the 1973 MLB Amateur Draft and he made his Major League debut on September 14, 1975. He played for the Philadelphia Phillies (1975-1980, 1986), the Milwaukee Brewers (1981-1982), the Montreal Expos (1982-1983) and the San Francisco Giants (1983-1984). Known nearly as well for his hitting as for his pitching, Lerch had a lifetime batting average of .206, with 56 base hits.
