The Gary Redus autographed card offered in this product is shown in the photograph below. This 2.5" by 3.5" blank white card (trading card size) has been hand signed by Gary Redus in black marker. Nice bold autograph. On the back of the card is wrote "GARY REDUS - PHILS." The signature has been certified by PSA/DNA and the card has been slabbed in a tamper-resistant case. Signature is PSA/DNA #81997104, the blank card has been labeled a "CUT" and it has been graded "AUTHENTIC." The Boston Red Sox drafted Gary Redus in the 17rh round of the 1977 MLB Amateur Draft, but he chose not to sign and attend Athens State University. The following year, the Cincinnati Reds selected Gary Redus in the 15th round of the 1978 MLB Draft and he signed four days later. The Reds sent Redus to their farmclub in Billings, Montana, where the 21-year-old may have had an advantage over many of the league's pitchers, many of whom were just out of high school, but nothing to predicted Redus would hit as well as he did, notching a .462 batting average with 17 home runs and 62 RBI in just 253 at-bats. Redus' average set an all-time professional league record, which still stands. Redus made his Major League debut on September 7, 1982 and played for the Cincinnati Reds (1982-1985), the Philadelphia Phillies (1986), the Chicago White Sox (1987-1988), the Pittsburgh Pirates (1988-1992) and the Texas Rangers (1993-1994). He found a home in Pittsburgh, having his best offensive season in 1989 and helping the Pirates to three straight National League Eastern Division titles from 1990-92.
