1989 PRO SET #182 MARCUS ALLEN AUTOGRAPHED CARD – PSA/DNA CERTIFIEDAnother nice collectible for your consideration. You are looking on one (1) 1989 Pro Set #182 Marcus Allen Autographed Card, PSA/DNA Certified. The card offered in this product is shown in the photograph below. This '89 Pro Set Marcus Allen card has been hand signed by Allen in black pen. The signature has been certified by PSA/DNA and the card has been slabbed in a tamper-resistant case. Card is PSA/DNA #31468449 and it has been graded “AUTHENTIC.”Former professional football player Marcus Allen was born March 26, 1980 in San Diego, California (Cal.) Allen played NCAA college football at the University of Southern California (USC) where he was a Consensus All-American in 1981 after running for 2,342 yards and winner of the Heisman Trophy Award. Drafted into the NFL in the first round of the 1981 Draft by the Oakland Raiders (10th pick overall). In the first game of the season, Marcus Allen ran for over 100 yards. However after the second week of the season, the players went on strike and after a 8 game shortened NFL season, Allen was named the Rookie of the Year (ROY) and was invited to the Pro Bowl. In 1982, Allen's sophomore season, he ran for 1,014 yards and the Raiders to the Super Bowl where Allen rushed for 191 yards on 20 carries, helping Oakland beat the favored Washington Redskins. For years Allen dominated the offense, but was often at odds with the Raiders coach Art Shell. In 1992 it came to a media blowout and Allen walked out of camp and filed a free agency lawsuit against the team. In 1993 Allen signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and got his chance to play again. A highlight surely in Allen's career, was playing with Joe Montana and scoring his 100th career touchdown again the Raiders. For the next few years Allen had to adjust to a new role and a two running back system. At the age of 38, and after the 1997 season, Marcus Allen left the NFL with the career record in rushing touchdowns (123) and in career receptions for a running back (587). In total, Allen collected 12,243 yards and 145 touchdowns. Shortly after hanging up his help, Allen signed a million dollar contract with CBS Sports as a commentator.
