You are looking on one (1) 1982 State Birds & Flowers First Day Cover Set with Album. This is a complete collection of all 50 1982 State Birds and Flowers Art Craft Cachets inside a nice Fleetwood Album. These 1982 State Birds and Flowers stamped covers were canceled April 14, 1982, on the stamps first day of issue, with a hand stamp pictorial cancel from each stamp's respective state capitol. The album along with a couple of the covers are shown in the photographs provided below. The covers are all very nice. They are unaddressed and the flaps are loose. The Album is in great condition with no tears, rub marks, writing or the like.The 1982 20¢ State Birds & Flowers Stamps were first issued in on Wednesday, April 14, 1982 in Washington, D.C. and at each of the 50 state capitols. These fifty United States commemorative postage stamps feature individual paintings of a each State Flower and it's corresponding State Bird. This was the second time the US Post Service had released a stamp set/sheet honoring all 50 stamps and the first time original artwork was used for each stamp. In two lines of type at the top of each stamp is the state's name and "USA 20¢." The later refers to each stamp's twenty-cent face value. Designed by father-and-son watercolor artists Arthur and Alan Singer, with the father Arthur sketching the birds and indicting where he thought the flower should go, while his son Alan painted the flowers. Modeled by Peter Cocci. Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) in Washington, D.C. on the Gravure Press. These stamps are known individually to philatelic collectors as US Scott Catalog #1953-2002, and as US Scott #2002a in sheet format.
