US BOOKLET STAMP FIRST DAY COVER LOTThank you buyders for following my postal products. Here is another neat item for your collection album. You are looking on one (1) US Booklet Stamp Pane First Day Cover Lot. The US First Day Covers in this product are shown in the photograph provided below. Lot includes: 1967 6¢ Franklin D. Roosevelt Booklet Stamp (US Scott #1284b); 1981 20¢ Flag-Supreme Court Vending Booklet Stamp (US Scott #1866) and a 1982 20¢ Big Horn Booklet Stamp (US Scott #1866). The envelopes are #6 3/4 size covers and measures ~6 1/2" by 3 5/8" (inches) or 164 mm by 92 mm. They all have been neatly addressed and have their flaps loose and tucked in the back. See the scan below and e-mail any questions. The 1967 6¢ Franklin D. Roosevelt Booklet Stamp was first issued on Thursday, December 28, 1967 in Washington, D.C. This United States definitive postage stamp was released by the US Post Office as part of it's Prominent Americans Series. Richard Lyon Clark based the design on a photograph of President Franklin Roosevelt with British Prime Minister Winston Churchill during the signing of the Atlantic Charter. Appearing vertically along the right side of the stamp in two lines of type is "FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT" "U.S. POSTAGE" and in the upper left corner is the denomination "6¢." The later refers to the stamp's six-cent face value. Modeled by Robert J. Jones and engraved by Howard C. Mildner (vignette)and Howard F. Sharpless (lettering and numerals). Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) in Washington, DC with gray brown ink on white paper. This stamp is known to philatelic collectors as US Scott Catalogue #1284b. The same day, the design was released also in a coil format (US Scott #1298), and it was previously issued during 1966 in a sheet format (US Scott #1284). The stamp reissued to supply customer and postal clerks with First-Class stamps before the rate change from 5¢ to 6¢, which went effective on January 7, 1968.The 1981 20¢ Flag-Supreme Court Vending Booklet Stamp was first issued on Thursday, December 17, 1981 in Washington, D.C. 20013. This United States definitive postage stamp was designed by Dean Ellis of New York City. The gummed adhesive features the American Flag flying over the Supreme Court with the James Earle Fraser statue "Contemplation of Justice" in the foreground. In the lower right portion, in two lines of type, is "USA 20¢." Which refers to the stamp's twenty-cent face value. Modeled by Frank J. Waslick and engraved by Robert G. Culin, Sr. (vignette) and Edward P. Archer (lettering and numerals). Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) in Washington, DC on an Intaglio press with black, blue and red ink on white paper. Released in a ($1.20) booklet with one six stamp pane. This stamp is known to philatelic collectors as US Scott Catalogue #1866. At the time of release, the 20-cent denomination paid for domestic 1 oz. first-class letter rate. The design was also issued in sheet (US Scott #1864) and coil (US Scott #1865) formats the same day.The 1982 20¢ Big Horn Booklet Stamp was first issued on Friday, January 8, 1982 in Bighorn, Michigan 59010. This United States definitive postage stamp was engraved from a photograph taken by Jim Brandenburg of Edina, Minnesota, a National Geographic contract photographer, who took the image specifically for the stamp. Image features the head of a large and proud bighorned sheep. In the lower left corner in two lines of type is "USA 20¢" - a reference to the stamp's twenty-cent face value. The design is the same as that used on an 18¢ 1981 stamp that was part of a wildlife booklet (US Scott #BK137/1889a), only with a different denomination. Modeled by Esther Porter and engraved by Gary M. Chaconas (vignette) and Robert G. Culin, Sr. (lettering and numerals). Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) in Washington, DC on an Intaglio press with blue ink on white paper. Released in a $4.00 booklet with two panes of ten stamps each. This stamp is known to philatelic collectors as US Scott Catalogue #1949 as a single, and #1949a as a booklet pane.
