It would make a great additional to a registry set or to any Denver Broncos collection. Former professional football player John Elway was born June 28, 1960 in Port Angeles, Washington. Elway played NCAA college football at Stanford University were he was an All-American. He was drafted with the first pick overall in the 1983 NFL Amateur Draft by Baltimore Colts, who quickly traded him to Dan Reeves and the Denver Broncos. Elway is known for his great comebacks and his 5 Super Bowl appearances. During his career, completely at the Mile High City, Elway earned 4 Pro-Bowl appearances, was the 1987 NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) and became one of only two players to ever throw over 50,000 yards, the other being Miami Dolphin's Dan Marino. Elway finished his career winning the 1997 and the 1998 Super Bowls. He became a commentator for NBC Sports after retirement and is a favorite commercial choice for Bush Beer.
