This is a Rawlings (Adirondack) Paul Modesi 1994 Rookie of the Year limited edition bat. The bat has been hand signed on the barrell in blue Sharpie by Modesi. This bat was produced and signed by Tristar and used to have a Tristar COA but I can no longer find it. It was part of a series of bats that honored players for different accomplishments. The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Raul Mondesi as an amateur free agent in 1988. Mondesi made his MLB debut on July 19, 1993 and played for the Los Angeles Dodgers (1993-1999), the Toronto Blue Jays (2000-2002), the New York Yankees (2002-2003), the Arizona Diamondbacks (2003), the Pittsburgh Pirates (2004), the Anaheim Angels (2004) and the Atlanta Braves (2005). Throughout his career, Mondesí exhibited obvious physical gifts of speed, power, and a rocket arm, which were offset by attitude issues. Despite his sometimes surly behavior, Mondesi would always hustle and often make a "big turn" at first base, even when he had no chance of obtaining a double. He seemed most at home when in the field, where his dead run into "belly buster" dives were a fan favorite.
