Professional football quarterback Peyton Manning was born March 24, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning. Manning played NCAA college football at the University of Tennessee. He became Tennessee's all-time leading passer with 11,201 yards, 863 completions and 89 touchdowns, while compiling a 39-6 record as a starter, setting an SEC record for career wins. Manning was selected in the first round, first pick overall, in the 1998 NFL Amateur Draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
