Dillon attended Garden City (Kansas) Community College in 1994 rushing for 1165 yards and 16 TD. In 1995 he played JC ball at Dixie State College of Utah rushing for 1899 yards and 20 TDs and earning the 1995 JC Offensive Back of the Year honor by College Sports Magazine. In 1996, Dillon transferred to the University of Washington where he played NCAA college football with the Huskies. At Washington, Dillon set school all-time single season records for rushing yards (1,555) and touchdowns (22) in 1996. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Dillon in the second round, 43rd pick overall, in the 1997 NFL Amateur Draft. For six seasons (1997-2002), Dillon was one of the few bright spots on the Bengals team. During this time, he rushed for over 1000 yards each year, and made the Pro Bowl three times (1999, 2000 & 2001). Dillon set an NFL record for most yards rushed in one game (278 yards) against the Denver Broncos; this record has since been broken by Jamal Lewis and is currently held by Adrian Peterson. After the 2003 season, Dillon left the Bengals as the team's all time leading rusher with 8,016 yards. Dillon started the 2003 season with the New England Patriots where he played from 2003 through the 2006 season. In 2005, Dillon helped the Patriots to victory in Super Bowl XXXIX and in 2006; he passed O. J. Simpson as the NFL’s 14th All-time Leading Rusher.
