This card was hand signed by Phil Simms, stamped "CERTIFIED AUTHENTIC NFL" in the lower corner and randomly inserted into boxes of 1992 Pro Line Profiles Football.Former professional football quarterback Phillip Martin "Phil" Simms was born November 3, 1954 in Lebanon, Kentucky. Simms attended Morehead State University where he led the MSU Eagles from 1974-1977. The Eagles featured a ball control running offense and Simms' numbers at Morehead State were unspectacular. Still, Simms managed to finished his collegiate career with a team record 5,545 passing yards. The New York Giants selected Phil Simms in the 1st round, 7th pick overall, in the 1979 NFL Draft. He played for the Giants his entire 14-year NFL career (1979-1993), leading the team during two Super Bowl victory seasons. In Super Bowl XXI, Simms completed 22 of 25 passes (with 2 of his 3 incompletions being drops by receivers) for 268 yards, setting Super Bowl records for consecutive completions (10), accuracy (88%), and passer rating (150.9). In 1990, Simms was led the Giants to an 11-3 record with the NFL's highest quarterback rating (92.7), when his season was cut short due to a broken foot. The Giants went on to defeat the Bills 20–19 in Super Bowl XXV. Simms was a 2-time Pro Bowl selection (1985 & 1993), the 1985 Pro Bowl MVP, a 1986 NEA First-team All-Pro selection and the 1986 NEA MVP Award winner, among other honors.
