This newspaper is signed on the top front cover by meteorite hunter Steve Arnold. Arnold found more Park Forest meteorites in the Park Forest meteorite strewnfield then any other hunter. His hunt was documented in other newspaper articles, Astronomy Magazine and Meteorite Magazine. I had Steve sign a small stack of these papers in 2003. This was the first large meteorite shower to land in a populated region and it hit more man-made items when falling then any meteorite falling ever. Among the meteorites hitting items, one hit a firehouse and went through the roof, windows were shattered, several resident houses were impacted and had these cosmic vistors enter their house, a towtruck, several cars, a fence, a firehydrant, a bench at a ballpark...the list goes on. Luckly nobody was hurt although a few people, and animals, had close calls. Park Forest has been classified as an L5 and is composed of most two related lithogies, a light and a dark the dark appears to be a partial impact melt of the former. Some "PF" slices are very shocked black, while other have none or a spiderweb of shock viens going through it. Truely one of the best looking American meteorites.
