ROUND TOP (B) H4 METEORITE
The Round Top (b) Meteorite specimen in this product is shown in the photograph below. This specimen is a nice part slice with crust along one side that weighs 19.3 grams. I have included a ruler (not included in product) in the photograph for a size reference. Meteorite will come with a (signed) description card.
The Roundtop (b) Meteorite was recovered from Fayette County, Texas in 1939 by meteorite hunter Oscar E. Monnig collecting meteorites from the Roundtop (a) find. It was later noticed different then the other Roundtop stones. The exact find site is not known. The 7166 single stone find has been classified as an H4, S3 stone chondrite. The main mass of this meteorite is currently on display at the Monnig Meteorite Gallery, TCU. Find information published in The Meteoritical Bulletin, No. 77, 1994 November.
