An All-America from the University Southern California (USC), Lott was the San Francisco 49ers' first round draft pick and the eighth player chosen overall in the 1981 NFL Draft. Lott played for the San Francisco 49ers (1981-1990), the Los Angeles Raiders (1991-1992), the New York Jets (1993-1994) and the Kansas City Chiefs (1995). Widely considered one of the best defensive backs in NFL history, Lott is a 10-time Pro Bowl selection (1981-1984, 1986-1991), a 9-time All-Pro selection (1981, 1983-1984, 1986-1991) and a 4-time Super Bowl Champion (XVI, XIX, XXIII & XXIV). In his 14 NFL seasons, Lott recorded 8.5 sacks and 63 interceptions, which he returned for 730 yards and five touchdowns. He recovered 17 fumbles, returned them for 43 yards, and gained 113 yards on kickoff returns. Lott also played in 20 postseason games, recording nine interceptions, 89 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and two touchdowns. Beyond statistics, Lott had an uncanny awareness of how a play was developing, which allowed him to break up passes and earn a reputation as one of the hardest and most efficient open-field tacklers in the history of the league. Lott has been enshired in the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame (2000). The San Francisco 49ers have retired Lott's #42 jersey number. After retiring, Lott turned to broadcasting serving as an analyst on Fox NFL Sunday from 1996 to 1998.Former professional football running back was born July 10, 1960 in Davenport, Iowa. Craig played college football at the University of Nebraska under Tom Osborne. He was drafted into the NFL by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2nd round of the 1983 NFL Draft. Craig played with the 49ers from 1983 to 1990, the Oakland Raiders in 1991 and the Minnesota Vikings in 1992 and 1993. He made an instant impact on the gridiron scoring a combined 12 rushing and receiving touchdowns his rookie season and helping the 49ers to the NFC Championship game. Perhaps the first serious two-way threat, Craig was the first running back to gain more than 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in the same season (1985). A 4-time Pro Bowl & All-Pro selection (1985, 1987-1989). In 1985, Craig ran for a career high 1,502 yards and caught an additional 76 passes for 534 yards, earning 1988 AP Offensive Player of the Year and 1988 UPI NFC Offensive Player of the Year honors. He finished his 11-year career with 8,189 rushing yards, 566 receptions for 4,911 receiving yards, and three kickoff returns for 43 yards. Overall, he amassed 13,143 total yards and scored 73 touchdowns (56 rushing and 17 receiving). Roger Craig remains the only running back to lead the NFL in receptions for a single season, and the only one ever to record over 100 receiving yards in a Super Bowl.Be sure to add me to your favorites list!FREE US shipping.
